The award-winning Idyllwild Area Historical Society is a volunteer organization whose Mission is: “…to preserve the history of Idyllwild and neighboring communities in the San Jacinto Mountains; to maintain artifacts thereof in  a manner accessible to the public; and to promote public awareness of local history for the enrichment of visitors and residents.”

In our first year we began collecting donations of material documenting mountain history, launched a periodic newsletter, organized field trips to nearby museums, inaugurated the annual Idyllwild Home Tour and trained volunteers to meet recognized standards for curating the growing collection.

Museum Hours:
Fall and Winter (September 21 – Memorial Day Weekend ): Saturday & Sundays, 11:00am – 4: 00pm  

Spring and Summer (Memorial Day Weekend – September 22) : Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, 11:00am – 4:00pm

Also: Monday holidays and everyday between Christmas and New Years.

Museum gardens are available everyday year round to sit, relax and enjoy.
