IDYLLWILD HOME TOUR – SEPTEMBER 14, 2024 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM

Each year IAHS offers public access to several homes, that vary in age, style, and setting for one day only. Each home is opened to the public for viewing both inside and out.  These homes will introduce visitors to a range of mountain lifestyles. This is not a driving tour. Be advised, homes may not be wheelchair accessible and walking surfaces may be rocky or uneven. Good walking shoes, a hat and water are recommended.

Tickets for the Home Tour will go on sale both online and at the museum during regular hours beginning June 1.

Tickets this year will be $30 per person. Here’s some useful information to prepare for the tour:

  1. When you purchase your ticket online or at the museum, retain the receipt you receive. It IS NOT your ticket, but must be shown at the Will Call/Ticket Booth on the day of the Home Tour. You will receive your Home Tour Booklet there. The Booklet IS your ticket to all the homes.
  2. The Will Call/Ticket Booth will open at 9:00am.
  3. The Will Call/Ticket Booth (see map below) will be located in the parking area between the Idyllwild Monument and the Idyllwild Inn, across from Idyllwild Park. Look for two Pop-Up canopies with Home Tour signs.
  4. The “Will Call” area is for those who bought their tickets in advance. Go to the area with the letter of your last name (A – G, H – P, Q – Z) to get your booklet.
  5. There will also be a assigned area for people to buy tickets on the day of the Home Tour. Line up in that area (without blocking traffic or driveways) to purchase your tickets. Please be patient. We will try to accommodate everyone. Cash and Credit cards will be accepted.
  6. We will have people at the Will Call/Ticket Booth to answer your questions and offer advice on how to maximize your tour experience. We will have simple village maps to share as well.
  7. If you get your booklets, before 10:00am, there are several coffee shops and stores in the village to enjoy before, during and after your tour. Also, refreshments will be served throughout the day at the Village Garden on the Idyllwild Area Museum grounds (see map below), where local artists will be displaying their work. Join us for a day to remember!
  8. Keep checking our website and Facebook page for more information and updates about the Home Tour and other Idyllwild Historical Society events.

This event is our major fund-raiser, supplying over one-third of the annual operating budget.
